First set up: Ride Lowride 125 with Burton Freestyles and Heelside Boots.
What do you listen to while riding: Lately its been Black Sabbath, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Bass Drum of Death. Garage, psych or some old school punk with some grit is most choice.
Favorite spot to ride: If I cant make it to the Mtn, a good backyard setup accompanied by good friends.
Favorite movie (non snow/skate): Dumb and Dumber
Worst time you were almost taken out by a skier: Two Ski racers come bombing down and cut up hill at a slowzone crosstrail at Loon. Right after dodging the first skiier, I stare him down for being and idiot. All of a sudden, the second comes out of nowhere and almost takes me out! I luckily ollied at the last second and cleared his knee at a moments notice. I would have been done for the season. This fool was friggen bombing. Stay on your toes, and obey slow signs because a lot of people don’t.
Dream snowboard trip would be to: Japan. The powder is limitless and pristine because the tree areas are looked at as a sacred place for spirits. My spirit wants in.
Go-to trick: BS 5 no grab shifty
Number of times Manny Ken the mannequin has scared you: I live in constant fear and resentment of mannequins. Unpredictable fart loving tricksters they are.
Best way to kill time on the lifts: Pretending I am John Bonham and drum soloing hard on the safety bar.
Stance: duck, traditional, or all your own: Narrow like I am skating, twin nose tail and angles. -15, 15.
Best place to fuel up after a day in the mountains: The local watering hole with the cheapest of sport sodas.
What’s a perfect snow day: All the homies have met up early at the mountain after nor’easter. All cell phones are dead. No negative bs from the outside world. Just good vibes, excessive laughter and fast laps through the park or pow.
