There are a couple of important meetings going on this week. The first is about the OOB Skatepark. They have the final docs and are approving them at a Recreation Board Meeting at 6PM tonight. They'll have the 3-D drawing, depth, style and width. The only hang up is the
pool coping & voting on it for final approval. this is your last chance if you want pool coping or not. If you can't make it tonight and want to make or opinion heard you can email Jason Webber directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and he'll read them into record.
As Eric Santos puts it "pool coping is vital! It's the difference between and OK park and an amazing park. We have the opportunity to have something spectacular and we must take action! POOL COPING!!!"
I was going to post a plans picture but the one circulated is an old pic. Head to the meeting to see the update and to be heard on the coping vote: 6PM at the OOB Rec Office, 148 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME
AND tomorrow night (Friday Jan 18th), University Rec is hosting the Black Bear Skatepark Associateion again for the monthly planning meeting for the future Regional Action Sports Park. This meeting is about the development of a
community skateboard/bike park on the UMaine Orono campus. Friday, January 18th from 3pm-4:30pm @ the UMaine Recreation Center (in the conference room), at 5797 Hilltop Road, UMaine Orono Campus.
This meeting is open to all individuals who are interested in working to bring a skate/bike park to the UMaine Campus. Great opportunity to get in on the ground floor with your ideas! Another way to help out with the Orono Park is to sign the online petition at Change.org Click here to access & sign the petition.
